Back in the days, Riikka had a Miniature Dachshund called Minttu. At the time, the plan was that Riikka would breed Long Haired Miniature Dachshunds, but sometimes life takes its own course.. After 16 years of holding kennel name Mintline's the first Mintline's litter was born - and the breed was Lapponian Herder.
How Riikka ended up owning and breeding Lapponian Herders is a long story with a lots of history. The place where kennel Mintline's is located today has a Lapponian Herder history dating back decades ago- before the time of our kennel. Two Lapponian Herder males Nilla and Nalle were born on this property in 1980's and they left their great mark on major Lapponian Herder bloodlines. It is merely a coincidence that kennel Mintline's ended up on this historical place, but we cherish the fact that this place has so many Lapponian Herder stories to tell.
At the end of 2018 we welcomed another breed in our family as our first Keeshond arrived. In the future, we are hoping to breed Keeshonds as well.
WHO WE ARE
Kennel Mintline’s is based on co-operation, shared effort and love for dogs by Riikka and Jussi Palmula. Riikka willingly takes the main responsibility about everything when it comes to dogs in our kennel - no matter what it is. With that said, Riikka and Jussi want to support each other in everything and the kennel is based on joining our forces and working together for the benefit of our dogs and the breeds of our choice.
The kennel name belongs to Riikka, but everything is done by us together from breeding decisions to going to dog shows. Every decision is discussed together, and Jussi helps Riikka in everything. We could say he's her right (or left ;)) hand and he's always involved in keeping the dogs fit, healthy and happy.
